Oxygen Science

How much more oxygen do you breathe?

Hyperbaric therapy combines high-purity oxygen with increased pressure. Set the values and see how much your inspired oxygen rises compared with normal breathing.

Oxygen concentration95%
Normal air is about 21%. OxyLife systems deliver up to ~95% oxygen.
Chamber pressure2.0 ATA
1.0 ATA is normal sea-level pressure. Typical sessions run at 2.0 to 2.5 ATA.

Why the numbers get so high

Two things happen inside the chamber at the same time, and together they multiply the oxygen your body takes in.

Increased pressure

The chamber raises absolute pressure to 2.0 to 2.5 ATA, so each breath packs more oxygen molecules into the same lungful of air.

High-purity oxygen

OxyLife generates up to about 95% oxygen on-site from ambient air, far above the ~21% you breathe in normal air.

Far more oxygen available

Purity times pressure sets the inspired oxygen pressure, which can be many times higher than breathing air at sea level.

Bring this oxygen boost to your facility

From single-seat capsules to clinical multiplace chambers, OxyLife delivers high-purity oxygen at pressure, built for your space.

Understanding the numbers

What does ATA mean?
ATA stands for "atmospheres absolute", the total pressure inside the chamber. 1.0 ATA equals normal pressure at sea level, and 2.0 ATA is twice that.
Why does higher pressure mean more oxygen?
Inspired oxygen pressure equals oxygen concentration multiplied by absolute pressure. Raising either the purity or the pressure raises how much oxygen you take in with each breath.
Is 95% the same as pure oxygen?
OxyLife on-site generators reach up to about 95%. It is high-purity oxygen produced from ambient air, without cylinders or refills.
Is this number a medical result?
No. It is an illustrative physics figure (inspired partial pressure) to show the difference versus normal breathing. Clinical protocols, pressure and session length are always set by a qualified professional.
